Enter Your Work in the Student Art Contest

Hello Friends,

Inglewood Unified School District is pleased to be sharing with you an initiative of the LA Promise Fund and the Getty Foundation on the Pacific Standard Time: LA/LA Student Arts Contest. The Contest is open to all public middle and high school students in Los Angeles County. Top student pieces will be exhibited and select students will receive college scholarships, including a grand prize of $5,000.

The contest is presented in partnership with the Pacific Standard Time: LA/LA, celebrating Latin American and Latino art and Los Angeles. This is a valuable moment for students to explore the history, culture, and identity of Los Angeles through the arts.

Students can submit pieces in four categories:

  1. Visual Arts
  2. Performing Arts
  3. Creative Writing
  4. Film or Media Arts

All submissions should address the prompt: LA is ________. Am I LA?

The contest will be open until March 1st, 2018.

I strongly encourage all students to let their creativity and innovation emerge in alignment with one of the nation’s largest arts initiative in Pacific Standard Time: LA/LA.
