Clyde Woodworth Elementary School will be merging with Monroe Middle School to become a TK-8 school before the 2018-2019 school year. Learn more about what that means to you and your students here.
Will any schools be closed in IUSD?
No schools in IUSD will be closed! We are excited to develop a merger between Woodworth and Monroe to build a new K-8 school. Both school teams have come together to develop new instructional programs. The program will be designed to align with the emerging learning network career pathways which are Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (STEAM) and students will be able to continue with similar programs at Morningside High School.”
Where will the Woodworth students be housed on the Monroe Campus?
The old portables on the Monroe campus will be demolished in the Spring/Summer 2018. Our new buildings will be erected this summer to house K-5 students from Woodworth.
Where will the 6th-grade students be housed in Monroe?
The students have been moved to recently remodeled classrooms with new windows and interior paint. Also, new landscaping was installed to create a park-like atmosphere where students can thrive. The new classrooms are bright clean and provide a conducive environment to learn and create.
What are the impacts to Morningside High School?
While we are focusing on creating academic/career pathways for students, Monroe will continue to be a feeder school for Morningside High School where they will continue to engage in robotics and engineering through the Project Lead the Way program.
